March 23th 2011

We sincerely hope that you enjoy this year's Velo-city in Seville and you will remember it fondly; we have put our heart and a whole lot of effort into the event!

The final programme is available for downloading here. Any changes to the day's programme will be notified by the master of ceremonies.

On occasion of the Seville Velo-city 2011 congress, the ECF and City of Seville have prepared this document which declares its recognition of the advantages and benefits of cycling as a daily mode of transport for all of us individually, as well as our cities.
The Seville charter will be signed during the plenary session on 25 March and will be sent to transport ministers everywhere, especially those taking part in the International Forum of Transport, entitled “Transport for Society”, to be held in Leipzig this May.

The Velo-city 2011 organising body would like to call on all participants and associates to contribute to a greener congress. We recommend reducing the carbon footprint of Velo-city 2011 by applying sustainability-based criteria. Advice and compensation measures can be found here.
Among the activities being staged at Velo-city 2011 from 22 to 27 March, we have brought a unique exhibition that viewed by bike.
You can enjoy the exhibition on several streets: from Torneo, Resolana, Ronda de Capuchinos, María Auxiliadora to the centre of Seville. Look for the large, back-lighted bus shelters that are usually reserved for advertising.
The display consists of 25 graphic pieces inspired by cycling culture and produced for the occasion by Littleisdrawing, Mr. Ed, Puño, Ricardo Cavolo, Miguel Velacoracho, Enriqueta Llorca, Coqué Azcona, Cosas Mínimas, Ferrán Esteve, Marisa Morea, Iván Solbes, Leo Espinosa, Lucía Corral, Luciano Suárez, Pietari Posti, Rafa Fans, Pedro Papercut, Miguel Brieva, 3ttman, David Sánchez, Alma Larroca, Le Raúl, The Beard, NoSE, Santiago Morilla and Raúl Arias.

“Encarrilados” (On track) is the photographic exhibition that we have set up in the eating and coffee area at the conference venue. It shows examples of people moving about by bike on a daily basis since the bike lanes were implemented in Seville. It has been organised by The Correo de Andalucía, a newspaper which is also co-operating in the organisation of Velo-city thanks to a tapas cycling tour around the city and is available to everyone one of you at the information desk.
