Press Pass

 




WHO CAN APPLY FOR A PRESS PASS?


Accreditation in the form of a Press Pass may be issued to members of the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) and/or representatives of media who can document that their publications or media products are available to the public in sales outlets, through publicly accessible radio frequencies, television channels or internet sites.


Press passes will not be issued to publishers, marketing personnel, sub-editors, staff of the publication's secretariat, advertising agency representatives, public relations agencies, students, members of cycling federations, internal magazines of companies, bloggers, trade magazines, and newsletters (or representatives of). However, if the quality and circulation criteria justify their consideration, such publications may be eligible for accreditation to a Press Pass on a case by case basis.


 


PRIORITY


A limited number of Press Passes are available, based on the capacity of the Press Room. It is the responsibility of the Congress Director or Head of Press to issue Press Passes with priority to mass media, such as national daily newspapers, mass-circulation magazines, leading radio- and television stations, and popular internet portals.

The deadline for application for a Press Pass is March 4, 2011

ACCESS


A Press Pass will give:


1. Access to the Press Room (Congress venue: Renacimiento Hotel).

2. Full 3-day conference packet includes entrance to all conference sessions, lunch, free rental of a conference bike, as well as participation in a range of social activities, including welcome drink, official cocktail, outing and Ciclovida.


A Press Pass does not provide access to backstage area or the technical areas.


Photographers are welcome to take photos but will not get full accreditation unless they apply for a Press Pass. However, photographers accompanying a journalist with a Press Pass may themselves be eligible for a Press Pass on a case by case basis. Freelance journalists are subject to the same requirements. Freelance journalists, including photographers, must provide clear evidence they are on assignment from a specific news organization or publication. A valid assignment letter from that news organization or publication is required. Photographic agencies must provide clear evidence from a client news organization or publication.


Requests for a Press Pass can be denied if applicants cannot establish they work as professional journalists, or if the applications are incomplete.




USE OF BICYCLES DURING THE CONFERENCE

Accredited journalists who wish to use a bicycle from 22nd to 27th March, should send a message before 17 th March to the following e-mail address, specifying the days when it will be needed: comunicacion@velo-city2011.com
When you pick-up the bicycle at the conference venue, you will be asked to sign an authorisation to charge your credit card for possible damages.
The bicycles will be distributed as participants arrive.


NOTE: Please remember that the bike that you will be using during the conference will NOT be taken on the trip, for which we will have mountain bikes that will be handed out when our coach arrives at the starting point.
